Starting from the 18th of May, Caja Rural - Seguros RGA will take on the five-days stage race Tour of Norway. The team did well in the race last year, winning a stage and placing second overall in the team classification. After the recently good period of racing, the team now hopes to continue on the same successful path.

Pello Bilbao leads Caja Rural - Seguros RGA in the Norwegian race. The 26-year-old Spaniard showed very good shape last month, winning a stage and leading Tour of Turkey before he had to abandon due to sickness. In Tour of Norway, Bilbao aims to prove his condition is still good.

Pello Bilbao said:

“I still feel the anger of having to abandon Tour of Turkey after leading the race. Now, I want to demonstrate that I had, and still have, good legs. I know that the good condition I’ve had since Vuelta al Pais Vasco won’t last forever, but I feel that I have recovered well and I think we will be able to do a good job in Norway. The terrain fits us nicely and this is a race I know very well. The team is doing great these days and we have to continue like this”.

Sports director Eugenio Goikoetxea added:

“We start this year’s Tour of Norway with a strong and complete team. Pello Bilbao is back again after showing great shape in Tour of Turkey before getting sick. We also have riders like Héctor Sáez and Fabricio Ferrari who are very eager to show themselves. This is a race for riders who do well in all kinds of terrains. We will take it day by day and keep on working hard to continue the good streak of results”.

Line-up:

Pello Bilbao, Lluis Mas, Héctor Sáez, Fabricio Ferrari, Diego Rubio & Javier Aramendia
