On Friday, the Spanish stage race Vuelta a Castilla y León starts out in Alcañices with the first of three very undulating stages. Caja Rural - Seguros RGA line up with a strong and ambitious team consisting of the following seven riders: Carlos Barbero, Ricardo Vilela, José Gonçalves, David Arroyo, Jaime Rosón, Lluis Mas and Pello Bilbao who did very well in Vuelta al País Vasco last week.
 
The queen stage of Vuelta a Castilla y León comes on stage 3 when the peloton finishes on Alto de la Plataforma. The 10 km towards the top have an average gradient of nearly 7 %. Even though the first two stages finish uphill as well, nothing is settled until the riders cross the line on top of this category 1 climb on the final day of racing.
 
As one of the local riders, Caja Rural - Seguros RGA’s Jaime Rosón (photo) is very eager to do well on familiar roads: “I’m starting this race strong and motivated. I have worked very hard the last three weeks to reach a good level. Now, I'm ready to give it my all these three days. It’s always very motivating to ride on home soil. For me personally, the third stage is definitely the one best suited for my characteristics”.
