BMC have announced the roster that will support Cadel Evans in his final race as a pro rider, Sunday's Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race. The team will mostly be composed by riders who did the Tour Down Under but Samuel Sanchez has travelled to Australia to start his season at the new event.
Compared to the team that successfully competed at the Tour Down Under, two riders will be absent. Overall winner Rohan Dennis is now focused on the Hour Record while Campbell Flakemore broke his collarbone in the first WorldTour race of the year. However, Evans will again be joined by Michael Schär, Danilo Wyss, Silvan Dillier and Peter Stetina who all were at his side in Adelaide. The final spot will be taken by Sanchez after the Spaniard recently signed a contract to stay with the team for another year.
The race will bring the curtain down on Evans' career but as a sprint finish is expected, he is not among the favourites. If it comes down to a bunch kick, BMC are likely to ride in support of Dillier who has a quick turn of speed.
