The organizers of the Clasica de Almeria and the BMC team have reached the agreement for the latter to participate in the next edition of the race. 
 

The Americans are one of the most powerful teams on the world scene and are the current world champions in the team time trial after defending the title they won in 2014 at the 2015 World in Richmond on September 20.

The American team have a 29-rider roster that includes classics riders like Philippe Gilbert and Greg Van Avermaet, big rouleurs like Taylor Phinney and Rohan Dennis and stage race specialists like Tejay van Garderen, Richie Porte and Samuel Sanchez.

Although the 7-rider line-up has not been confirmed yet, the organizers can announce that both Philippe Gilbert and Samuel Sanchez will be part of the team. It is also possible that sprinter Rick Zabel, son of the legendary Erik Zabel, will be at the race, an important asset in a race that has often been decided in a sprint.

In addition to the above mentioned World Championships win, the BMC team won two stages of the Giro d'Italia (stages 12 and 18) with Philippe Gilbert and three stages of the Tour de France (the prologue with Rohan Dennis, the stage 8 team time trial and the 13th stage with Greg Van Avermaet). They also won the opening team time trial at the Vuelta a Espana and the 14th stage with Alessandro De Marchi. Their many victories include the general classification of the Tour Down Under, the Tour of Belgium and numerous stages in Romandie, Tirreno Adriatico and the Dauphiné.

With this agreement the organizers of the Clasica de Almeria increase the number of major teams that will be on the roads of the province on February 14.
