Two of BMC Development Team's riders, Taylor Eisenhart (USA) and Fabian Lienhard (SUI), will continue the 2016 season as stagiaires with BMC Racing Team.
The promotion of Eisenhart and Lienhard to BMC Racing Team is a testament to the success of BMC Development Team in preparing young riders for the UCI WorldTour ranks, General Manager Jim Ochowicz said.
"Taylor and Fabian will join us for the remainder of the season, during which time they'll gain valuable experience in the professional peloton, to build on the skills they have already developed with BMC Development Team. Our development program exists for this very reason so we are excited to see Taylor and Fabian amongst our ranks for the final races of the season," Ochowicz explained.
For Eisenhart and Lienhard, the opportunity to join BMC Racing Team as a stagiaire is an exciting step in their career.
"It's a huge honor to be riding as a stagiaire for the best team in the world. I have ridden a BMC bike since I was a 16-year-old junior rider so to be riding my first pro race for BMC Racing Team, a team that I have grown up with, is beyond a dream. BMC Development Team have really taken care of me and have developed me so that I am ready for this moment, so I have a huge amount of respect for them for this," Eisenhart said.
"I feel really good and honored about being promoted to a stagiaire position with BMC Racing Team. It's going to be great to ride for the pro team from 1 August and I think this will be a great opportunity to learn a lot from the experience and knowledge of the pro riders. I will work my hardest to do a good job to help the team and if I get the chance to ride for a result for myself I hope that I am able to prove what I am capable off," Lienhard agreed.
Eisenhart and Lienhard will join BMC Racing Team as of 1 August, with the Tour of Utah their first race.
