The BMC Racing Team's roster for Sunday's edition of GP Ouest France-Plouay includes USA Pro Challenge runner-up Mathias Frank, Tour of Utah stage winner Greg Van Avermaet, Tour de Pologne stage winner Taylor Phinney and national road champions Thor Hushovd (Norway) and Michael Schär (Switzerland).
BMC Racing Team Assistant Director Fabio Baldato said the 243-kilometer race that consists of nine laps of a 27-km circuit is a perfect one for Hushovd, who was runner-up here in 2007.
"For sure, Thor is our captain for the final," Baldato said. "But depending on the situation, we can play many other cards. We have a very strong team around him."
Hushovd, who has won a team-high eight races this year, said he is anxious to show his form after getting blocked in the final sprint at the Vattenfall Cyclassics in Hamburg last Sunday.
"This is a strongmen's race," he said. "There are two hard climbs on every lap and people are getting dropped on every lap. The last two or three laps, it's just hard racing between hard attacks and strong riders and strong teams."
