The six riders who will line-up for the 57.2km race against the clock are Steve Cummings, Daniel Oss, Taylor Phinney, Manuel Quinziato, Michael Schär and Tejay van Garderen.
"This is a team that we will be proud of, regardless of results," BMC Racing Team President/General Manager Jim Ochowicz said.
"However, we are pretty confident everyone has been properly prepared for the race. This is a high priority for the team and one that we have thought about since getting second last year."
Three riders – Phinney, Quinziato and van Garderen – return from that squad that came up three seconds short of the winning time by Omega Pharma-Quick Step. BMC Racing Team Assistant Director Max Sciandri said the selection process was difficult.
"It becomes a numbers issue, there is a personal component to it, and even a friendship component," Sciandri said. "In the end, making that final selection is like cutting off a little piece of the team and it really hurts. But decisions had to be made."
Sciandri said he and Performance Team Advisor Bobby Julich even rode the course this week to get a final feel for what was needed in terms of personnel. "There's no hiding," Sciandri said. "Speed is going to be a key factor."
