BMC have not made a decision yet on whether or not they will fill Alessandro Ballan's spot on their roster.
There are still a few good riders left on the market, such as Chris Horner or Samuel Sanchez. Alternativey, BMC could promote a rider from their youth squad.
The Italian Ballan was handed a two-year ban by CONI and BMC terminated his contract immediately.
'There has been no decision made on filling the available roster spot, nor is there a timetable right now for doing so." a BMC Racing Team spokesman told VeloNation today.
"In accordance with the BMC Racing Team's stricy anti-doping policy, Ballan is no longer a member of BMC Racing Team." said General Manger Jim Ochowicz.
Ballan will be able to return to competiton on the 16th of January 2016, but he will be 36 by then and it is unclear if he will try to find a new team when the ban ends.
Ballan told La Gazzetta Dello Sport that he felt that the ban was "harsh" as he was banned for using the WADA banned ozone treatment. However, he was suffering from acute hepatitis as a result of cytomegalovirus and claims he used the tratment while he was ill and not racing. It is also unclear if he will take his case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
