MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung will get its 2nd week of racing in Norway underway when the Tour des Fjords begins tomorrow in Bergen. The Tour des Fjords is a 5-day stage race that is categorised with a UCI 2.1 ranking and the race consists of 5 road stage races.

MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung will take to the start of the Tour des Fjords off the back of a very successful Tour of Norway last week. Edvald Boasson Hagen was able to secure 2nd overall on the GC last week after being supported superbly by his African team. This week he will be looking to again take advantage of his good form.

There will only be one change to the MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung team that raced last week with Kristian Sbaragli replacing Serge Pauwels. That means Boasson Hagen will again be joined by South Africans Jay Thomson, Nic Dougall, Songezo Jim and Jaco Venter.

With a few less vertical meters scheduled in the coming days than what the team had last week, racing will be a lot tighter with a few more bunch sprints expected. Sbaragli's sprinting talents will certainly provide the African team with another good option for the team to achieve a top result.

"We are looking forward to this race after the good results achieved at the Tour of Norway and the good performance the entire team put in. The weather conditions can be a factor in this race and we have to be ready for that. There aren't any big mountains in the race but if the racing is hard enough in some strong winds then there will be selections. We will work hard to bring a stage win back home," sports director Alex Sans Vega said.
