Nikolay Mihaylov finished in 36th place on Stage 18 of Giro d’Italia. Philippe Gilbert took the win on another demanding day in the Italian Grand Tour.

Before the only categorized climb of the day (Monte Ologno, 10,4km, 9% avg, 13% max, cat.1), a big crash occurred in the peloton. One of the riders involved was Grega Bole. The Slovenian hurt his shoulder but managed to continue.

CCC missed the break. The highest ranked rider of the team was Nikolay Mihaylov, who finished in 36th place (14:45 back). Despite crashing, Bole completed the stage. He sits 41st overall.
