Lars Boom is seriously considering riding more cyclocross events in the future. However, the Astana rider is not going to completely turn his back on road racing, he told NPO Radio 1.
Boom is apparently wanted by Sven Nys and the Telenet-Fidea team for the cross season. "The interest of the team of Nys is sure," the Dutchman admits. "After Paris-Roubaix I will see what I will do in the future. I would not mind riding a few more races, but it'd be a shame not to do the classics. I have to think about it as just a combination of the two disciplines which would be very good."
This winter, Boom was already riding cross again. The 2008 world champion was an impressive fourteenth at the World Championships in Zolder after starting from virtually the back of the field. This week, the 30-year-old Dutchman rode Paris-Nice, where he abandoned a few stages before the end.
