"The sprint was for 30 people, and that's a lot to find a good position."
Those were the words of Borut Bozic after E3 Harelbeke in Belgium, the second Belgian cobblestone classic this week. Bozic and teammates Laurens De Vreese, Dmitriy Gruzdev and Andrei Grivko all finished more than 3 minutes behind winner Geraint Thomas of the United Kingdom.
Arman Kamyshev crashed with superficial wounds to his hand but did not require x-ray or hospital treatment.
Lars Boom crashed with several leading riders in a cobblestone sector halfway through the race. The Dutch multi-champion crashed earlier on Wednesday and suffered contusions and superficial wounds to his left leg, and on Friday crashed at high speed to injure his right leg.
Boom will not race Sunday at Gent Wevelgem, but is cleared to race 3 Daagse De Panne next week in preparation for next Sunday's Ronde Van Vlaanderen.
