The final stage of the 102nd edition of the Tour de France ended traditionally on the Champs Elysees in the French capital Paris today. After 3,360 kilometers, this year's Tour ended with a bunch sprint, in which Andre Greipel (Lotto-Soudal) was able to secure his fourth stage victory. He won ahead of Bryan Coquard (Europcar) and Alexander Kristoff (Katusha).
BORA – ARGON 18 rider Jan Barta showed his famous attacks in Paris and both he and Paul Voss went clear in rainy conditions. All attacks were neutralized by the sprinters' teams in time for the finale.
"On the final day, we again tried to present ourselves even if we no longer had a sprinter for the finale here. Jan and Paul attacked, everyone else did their best. Bottom line: it was a good Tour for us even though we haven’t always achieved what would have been possible under perfect conditions. But the third place of Emanuel outshines a lot. And Jan has shown a great performance. That’s why we can celebrate properly today with the riders who finished here in Paris", commented Enrico Poitschke the final stage.
