The penultimate stage of this year's Tour de France led to the famous climb of Alpe d'Huez. As expected, the stage was dominated by the battle for the yellow jersey. While runner-up Nairo Quintana (Movistar) gained a lot of time with an attack on the final climb, Chris Froome (Sky) will still go to Paris in the yellow jersey tomorrow.

Bora – Argon 18 actively on the last mountain stage, including Bartosz Huzarski in an attack and Jan Barta, who was able to keep up a group of favorites until the final climb. Barta defended the 25th place in the overall classification.

"Today, we’ve tried again to present ourselves actively. Bartosz was again part of a larger group on the first mountain. But we expected that the favorites would set a very fast pace in the battle for the yellow jersey at this point already. Jan stayed in striking distance until the climb to Alpe d'Huez and he rode a good race. But the high mountains don’t suit him that well, so this specific climb became difficult for him", concludes Sports Director Enrico Poitschke the penultimate stage.
