A team time trial over 24.5 kilometers was held as the third stage of the Criterium du Dauphine. BORA – ARGON 18 rode a solid time trial and was able to convince with the eleventh best time. With this result, the German team beat seven WorldTour and all other wildcard teams. With 29:58 minutes, BMC set the best time on the challenging course and was the only team below the 30-minutes mark. Astana and Movistar completed the podium.
"Today we had a demanding course, which was very difficult with the hill at the end. We knew that it wasn’t comparable with a flat course, like the one in Trentino. Therefore, we are generally satisfied with the solid race that the boys rode. Unfortunately, we had two or three riders who didn’t have their best day and who couldn’t push what’s normally possible. This can have various causes, since all our riders had a really long training phase. That’s why we don’t want to overstate it. If we lose just 20 seconds to a top team like Sky, our time trial was absolutely within our scope”, Enrico Poitschke comments the TTT of BORA – ARGON 18.
