MTN-Qhubeka remains very active on the transfer market and after signing Edvald Boasson Hagen, the South African team is still looking to strengthen their line-up for 2015 season. Even though parties haven’t reached the final agreement, according to Dutch media Theo Bos might be next rider to join the growing Pro Continental squad.
We first reported during the Tour de Pologne that MTN-Qhubeka expressed their interest in signing two Belkin Procycling riders who have participated in the event – particularly Robert Gesink and Theo Bos. While the former eventually decided to stay with his current outfit, the latter is yet to make final decisions regarding his future, but according to his agent a move to the South African team is very probable.
“There is interest there,” Bos’ manager Rik van Dongen told the Algemeen Dagblad newspaper. “Theo is positive about it and they are just going over the finer points. We are at an advanced stage but there is yet to be a signature.”
Earlier this year the 31-year old Dutchman indicated that he might consider returning to track racing, but apparently breaking winning draught at the Tour de Pologne has changed his mindset. Despite having Gerald Ciolek in the squad, Bos would certainly enjoy bigger freedom at the MTN-Qhubeka than in Belkin, preferring to support another talented fast finisher, Moreno Hofland.
