Nacer Bouhanni (Cofidis) missed out on one of the few sprint opportunities in the Vuelta a Espana when he rolled across the line in 93rd today.
"I took the corner with 500 metres to go in the 25th position and it was already over. We could not find ourselves as a team but things like this happen. I could have given it a go and finish in the Top 10 but it was useless. The crashes I had had their toll and I'm going to try and take advantage of the next stages which don't favour me to recover as best as I can," he said.
Instead, Cyril Lemoine took over sprinting duties and took a fine 13th place.
