For the first time in it shistory, the Vuelta Andalucia will have attendance from a Brazilian team after reaching an agreement with the Funvic Soul Cycle Carrefour team which will move to the Professional Continental category for 2016.
The riders selected to participate in the 62nd Ruta del Sol are Antonio Piedra, Pablo Urtasun, Kleber Ramos, Magno Nazaret, Joao Gaspar, Flavio Cardoso and Francisco Chamorro.
Soul Cycles Funvic Carrefour goes into the seventh season in the peloton but so far they have been in Continental category. During the first six years, they have achieved a total of 74 victories, 32 of them in 2015 year. Now they will head to Eruope to compete at a higher level and the management has decided to line up a team made up of experienced riders, most notably Spaniards Antonio Piedra and Pablo Urtasun who have both been riding at the pro level in the past.
The Andalusian race has confirmed two more teams so far:
IAM Cycling: Clement Chevrier, Stef Clement, Jerome Coppel, Martin Elmiger, Mathias Frank, Reto Hollenstein and Oliver Naesen
Team Giant-Alpecin: Warren Barguil, Roy Curvers, Simon Geschke, Tobias Ludvigsson, Sam Oomen, Georg Preidler and Albert Timmer
