Despite being rumored to sign a contract with Astana for the coming seasons, certainly the most aggressive rider of the recently finished 101st edition of the Tour de France, Alessandro De Marchi, will ride for BMC next year, moving to the American squad alongside his Cannondale team-mate Damiano Caruso.
In the age of 28, De Marchi established himself as one of the most effective breakaway artists, winning the 2013 Criterium du Dauphine queen stage and the combativity award in this year’s Tour de France. Even though he was expected to join Astana for the new season, according to the Italian media the 28-year old Cannondale rider will move to BMC together with his team mate Damiano Caruso.
