Matti Breschel claims stage 4 of Tour of Denmark after outsprinting the competition in an uphill sprint finish.
 
“It’s really something, it’s my second win and the team’s second win in a row," he said. "I tried to stay calm out there and save energy for the sprint, while staying confident in myself ahead of the uphill sprint. I was delivered in a perfect position by my teammates, in particular Chris Juul and Jay McCarthy that rode the final lead-out for me.

"I’ve put in a lot of hours on the bike before this race. It’s just over a month since I was hit by a car and now I’m here as the stage winner for the second day in a row. That’s great but it’s also due to the group of guys racing here.

"In the sprint I knew that I had to start my sprint far out to increase my chances against Boasson Hagen and Magnus Cort. So I opted for a long sprint and that certainly worked out well.

"I’m not going to take it easy at tonight’s TT to save myself for the final flat stage tomorrow. I want to go out there and ride as fast as I can – time trials are not my specialty, but taking my GC position into consideration I have to do my best. But there’s no doubt that Chris Juul-Jensen is our primary guy tonight and I think he stands more than a fair chance”.
 
Matti Breschel now leads the points classification, while the squad tops the team classification. Chris Juul-Jensen is the best placed rider from the team sitting 3rd, 12 seconds behind the lead before tonight's time trial.
