Belgian Boris Vallée, 22, who has spent the first part of his career in the Soudal-Lotto team, has signed a contract for two years (2016 and 2017) with the Fortuneo Vital, the current Bretagne-Séché Environnement team.
Known as a big sprint talent, Vallee has been a part of the sprint train for André Greipel and Jens Debusshere. He has been professional since 2012, has two wins and joined Lotto-Belisol in 2014. This year he was 2nd in the GP de Denain, 6th in the Tour de Wallonie and recently 7th in the Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen.
He is just 40 days older than future teammate Kevin Ledanois who won the U23 World Championships but wasn't eligible for selection for that race as he is riding for a WorldTour team. He is the second new signing from the WorldTour after Chris-Anker Sorensen (Tinkoff-Saxo) and the fifth addition after Steven Tronet, neo-pro Franck Bonnamour and Julien Loubet .
"Boris is not only a great hope of Belgian cycling, he also learned his trade by sprinting alongside Greipel and Debusshere for two years," manager Emanuel Hubert said. "We strongly believe in him. He have expanded our young group with Kevin Ledanois, Franck Bonnamour Dan McLay and even Eduardo Sepulveda who is only 24 years old. Of course we must achieve short term results but the commitment of three years from Fortuneo Vital Concept allows us to have a medium-term vision. These two partners have also indicated their ambitions on the Belgian market so we must be more present in Belgium, and recruiting Boris also goes in this direction. LIike Bonnamour and McLay, Boris has a taste for the classics. With these three riders, we have potential for one-day races in Belgium."
