According to Sports Minister Tracey Crouch, the British Governement are looking to make doping a criminal offence. She confirmed this in a recent interview with the BBC.
"It is an interesting idea," Crouch told the BBC. "I've asked officials in my department to have a look at the issue… We will make a judgement based on that in the near future."
This comes just days after the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) spoke about their desire for doping to remain off the law as an offence. However, doping is already a criminal offence in Spain, France, Italy, Austria, Australia and New Zealand.
