CCC Sprandi Polkowice will take part in two one-day races held this weekend in the Benelux countries – Arnhem-Veenendaal Classic (August 19th) and Grote Prijs Jef Scherens – Rondom Leuven (August 21st).
The race from Arnhem to Veenendaal will be held on a twisty course, which goes through two Dutch national parks. There are a few short, but punchy and sometimes cobbled hills on the menu. The hardest ones include Grebbeberg and Posbank in Rhenen and Emma Pyramid in Rozendaal. There are 198 kilometers to cover and the finishing straight is flat.
Two days later the orange squad will be racing in Belgium, at Grote Prijs Jef Scherens – Rondom Leuven, which is included – alongside 9 other Belgian events – in the Napoleon Games Cup series. The race will be carried out on a 14-kilometer lap, which will be tackled as many as twelve times. There are four shorter climbs on the circuit and the top of the last one is located just 2 kilometers from the finish in Leuven. The riders will end the day with 185 kilometers under their belt. One-day Belgian races specialists are mostly likely to take the win, but typical sprinters can’t be ruled out. Last year’s edition was one of the hardest, since only 29 riders reached the finish line.
Grzegorz Stępniak, Adrian Kurek, Leszek Pluciński, Marcin Mrożek, Adrian Honkisz and Łukasz Owsian are part of the six-man line-up of CCC Sprandi Polkowice for both of the races.
