Starting on Tuesday, Caja Rural - Serugos RGA will take on the final four races of the season with a strong and motivated group of riders.
The first race is the undulating Tre Valli Varesine, taking place on the 27th of September, while Milano-Torino awaits the following day. With an uphill finish, only the best and most punchy climbers will have a chance to fight for glory in this race. The last of the three Italian one-day races is Gran Piemonte on Thursday. In the past, this race used to be won by a sprinter but in recent years, late breakaways have proven successful. The final race for Caja Rural - Seguros RGA this year is Tour de Vendée on Sunday the 2nd of October.
Sports director Eugenio Goikoetxea said:
“We take on these final four races of the season aiming to continue on the same path as in our recent races where we have been in almost all the breakaways and shown off the team colors nicely. We got a podium spot and a fourth place plus Benito was very close to winning the day he got caught just 150 meters from the line. For these last races, we will send a strong team including riders who are fresh off the Vuelta a España. We will try to surprise and fight for victory but we also know it won’t be easy as the competition here is very strong”.
Line-ups for the three Italian races:
Sergio Pardilla, Ricardo Vilela, Pello Bilbao, David Arroyo, Jaime Rosón, Eduard Prades, Ángel Madrazo and Ion Irisarri
The line-up for Tour de Vendee will be disclosed later.
