The professional continental license of Caja Rural-Seguros RGA has been renewed. The International Cycling Union UCI has geven the green light for the Spanish team to remain in the second division for the fourth consecutive year. Having undergone a review by the UCI and Ernst & Young, the team has been given the license without being referred to the UCI License Commission.
Caja Rural-Seguros RGA has again completed its registration, satisfying all economic, administrative and ethical requirement. The auditors and the UCI have looked at the spo sponsorship contracts, guarantees, budgets and again decided that Caja Rural-Seguros RGA maximum credibility.
The presence of the Caja Rural-Seguros RGA in the 2nd division gives them access to receive invitations to races like the Vuelta a Espana where they have participated three years in a row, the Giro d'Italia for which they were among 8 teams on the short list in 2014, and the Tour de France which they are unlikely to do in 2015. Furthermore, they may get invited to the important Spanish WorldTour races like the Vuetla al Pais Vasco, the Volta a Catalunya and the Clasics San Sebastian.
Notably, Caja Rural-Seguros RGA has received its license in the first call without appearing before the License Commission for the fifth year in a row.
In 2015, Caja Rural-Seguros RGA will be riding at the professional level for the 6th year. Currently, they have 19 riders of which 13 are Spanish and 5 have come from their own amateur team.
