Caja Rural are getting closer to finalizing their roster for 2015. Yesterday the team announced that they have extended the contracts with Omar Fraile and Angel Madrazo.
Caja Rural have announced that Angel Madrazo and Omar Fraile will be riding for the team in 2015. With the contract extensions, the team has confirmed 17 riders for the coming season.
For Fraile, 2015 will be the third year with Caja Rural after he made his debut with Orbea in 2012. This year he only offered glimpses of his talents in races like the Giro del Trentino and the Volta a Portugal. In the Tour of the Basque Country, he won the sprints competition after having delivered a breakthrough performance one year earlier. In Trentino, he was eighth in San Giacomo di Brentonico while he was fourth in Grandissima Serra do Larouco, ninth in Santo Tirso and 15th in Senhora da Graça before he finished 24th in the Volta. The Spaniard did very little racing in May (five days in the Tour of Norway), in June (the National Championships) and in July (Klasika Ordizia).
Madrazo joined the team from Movistar and after a slow start, he ended the season on a high. Having missed out on selection for the Vuelta a Espana, the Spaniard rode strongly in the late-season races in Italy. His main performance was a second place in the Giro dell'Emilia where he was passed by Davide Rebellin inside the final kilometre.
Earlier Caja Rural have announced the signings of Carlos Barbero, Miguel Angel Benito, Ricardo Vilela, Eduard Prades and Hugh Carty.
