Caja Rural-Seguros RGA will be a professional continental team for another season. The International Cycling Union has renewed the team's license in the second division of world cycling. Following the audit of the UCI and Ernst & Young, it has made the first cut without having to go to the License Commission. The team returned to the professional field as a continental team in 2010, making the step to the Professional Continental level in 2011.
Caja Rural-Seguros RGA has again completed the registration, passing the economic, administrative and ethical exams of the audit. UCI and the auditors have specially looked into sponsorship contracts, guarantees, budgets and again considered that Caja Rural-Seguros RGA deserves full credibility.
The presence of Caja Rural-Seguros RGA in the second division gives access to receive invitations to races like the Vuelta a Espana where they have participated with great prominence the previous four years, the Giro d'Italia (where they have been on long list of 8 teams for the last two years) and the Tour de France (although it seems unlikely to do the French race in 2016). Furthermore, they will be able to do very important races on the WorldTour like the Tour of the Basque Country, Volta a Catalunya Catalonia and the Clasica San Sebastian.
Notably, Caja Rural-Seguros RGA has achieved its registration without having to appear before the License Commission for the sixth consecutive year.
