With a second place in the first stage, Victor Campenaerts (Topsport Vlaanderen) has emerged as the biggest rival for Niki Terpstra at the Tour de Wallonie. However, he admits that it will be difficult to erase his 16-second deficit in the final stage.

"It was a quieter day than the previous ones," he told Directvelo. "In the finale, the race has nervous but there were no big consequences despite the two climbs. The general classification remains as it was before the fourth stage. 

"Tomorrow, with an uphill finish, one can expect to see a more exciting stage. The race should be decided in the final laps. It is certain that there will not be a full peloton in Thuin. 

"As for me, I have a deficit of 16 seconds in GC. It will be difficult to change. We'll see how it goes. Yesterday I thought there could be ways to take time on Terpstra. I really thought I could get the yellow jersey. But Niki was very strong. He once again demonstrated his talent. 

"I'll give everything tomorrow on the final climb of the Mur de Thuin but I will already be satisfied to finish second and be the best young rider in the Tour de Wallonie."
