The Northern campaign for Cannondale Pro Cycling continues with two races that are preludes to the Ardennes classics. On Wednesday the team will be in Belgium to attend the Brabantse Pijl while the riders will move to France on Thursday to race the Grand Prix of Denain.
The team will have multiple options for the races, as Peter Sagan and Moreno Moser will return to race side by side after their memorable performances at Strade Bianche (the Italian was first, the Slovak second). Sagan will face Brabantse and Denain’s race after a positive series of results on the cobblestones (victory at Gent-Wevelgem and second place at the Ronde and Harelbeke). Moser will return to racing after eleven days of training camp at altitude, planned to attain top form at the Ardennes classics.
In addition to Sagan and Moser, Cannondale Pro Cycling will also count on Damiano Caruso, who trained alongside Moser and is determined to aim for important performances and results during the next races. Stefano Agostini, as well as Daniele Ratto, will play the role of outsiders, while Tiziano Dall’Antonia, Ted King and Lucas Haedo will have important roles to support team’s ambitions.
“We have the right riders to go for a good result either in Brabantse or Denain,” affirmed Alberto Volpi, the team’s Directeur Sportif for the races. “Moser and Caruso will be free to race for themselves due to the route that suits them and their good form. Of course Sagan will be a point of reference for the team, but he must not to feel the obligation to win at all costs.”
