From Tuesday the 2nd of August to Saturday the 6th, Caja Rural - Seguros RGA will take on Vuelta a Burgos with a strong group of riders. The Spanish stage race is the final test before the team lines up at the Vuelta a España later this month.
The opening stage of Vuelta a Burgos is expected to end in a sprint, while stage 2 is a 10.7 km team time trial. Two undulating stages then follow before the race ends with the steep mountain top finish on Lagunas de Neila. Caja Rural - Seguros RGA sends a versatile team including one of this year’s revelations, Hugh Carthy, who aims to continue his impressive season with the team.
Hugh Carthy said:
“This year, Vuelta a Burgos has a very strong field compared to previous editions. With so many World Tour teams at the start line, the race will be much more challenging than usually. However, we bring a strong team and we should be competitive in any given stage. Personally, I’m happy with my current condition and I hope to do well, especially on the mountain top finish on stage 5”.
Lineup for Vuelta a Burgos:
Hugh Carthy, David Arroyo, Sergio Pardilla, Pello Bilbao, Carlos Barbero, Ángel Madrazo, Lluis Mas and Jaime Rosón.
