Mark Cavendish, who won the World title at the Madison at the World Championships with Bradley Wiggins, will be present at the London Six Day. The event will take place in October 20-25.
“I couldn’t compete in last year’s Six Day, but went along as a fan; I almost had to be held back from jumping on a bike and joining in," Cavendish explained in a statement published by the organizers.
This weekend, he finished 110th at Milan San Remo. He continues to prepare for his next goal: the Tour de France in July. He also targets the Rio Olympics in August before the World Championships road race in Doha on October.
"This year is going to have a lot going on, but a Six Day in London is something I am desperate to do. Winning the Madison the other week with Brad [Wiggins] just made my mind up – that venue, that crowd and a Six Day, it’s a no brainer for me", he added.
