CCC Sprandi Polkowice have been accepted as the new MPCC (Movement for Credible Cycling) member.
"We are very proud to join the MPCC, the movement which defends the idea of a clean cycling and works on rebuilding its image. We fully support the values and action taken by the association and by following its strict rules we want to build the team’s credibility and transparency. The fact that our application has been accepted is a very important step for the team," Piotr Wadecki, sporting director of CCC Sprandi Polkowice said.
All the teams associated within MPCC have to follow medical and anti doping rules which go beyond the UCI regulations. The members voluntarily signed up and agree to some standards of conduct such as team’s auto-suspension in the event of several positive tests in the past 12 or 24 months, legal actions taken against riders in the event of a positive test for damaging the team’s image or eight day rest from competition for a rider in case of collapsing cortisol levels or intra-articular corticosteroid injection (validated by the team doctor).
Among MPCC members there are 66 professional men’s teams (UCI World Tour, Professional and Continental) and 9 women’s teams.
