After announcing the signing of Jan Hirt yesterday, CCC Polsat have added another talented climber to their roster. Leszek Plucinski becomes the 7th new rider to join the team for 2015.
The building process of the team for 2015 season continues. Another rider who has signed with the “orange” team, is Leszek Pluciński.
The 24-year old from Nysa developed as a cyclist under the wings of Jacek Bartkiewicz. He started in 2003 and from the very young age was showing great potential in the mountains. In 2011 he left for France, to the amateur team Tous Agglo Cylisme 37. He spent a few months there and took part in many local races. His biggest accomplishment was 2nd place in Grand Prix de Champniers.
After returning to Poland he became a part of Wibatech team for one season. In 2012 Plucinski signed his first professional contract, a two-year deal with BDC MarcPol.
One of the biggest achievement of his cycling career is the Mountain Polish Championship title in the U23 category in 2012 and a victory in the Polish race in Olsztyn (2013). In 2014 season he took 9th place in the Portuguese Volta ao Alentejo and was 2nd in the Ukrainian Race Horizon Park. In the Polish Road Race Championships in Sobotka, Plucinski finished 6th, next to Omega Pharma Quick Step’s Michal Golas and Lampre-Merida’s Przemyslaw Niemiec.
"I’m really happy that I’m joining CCC team," Lesze Plucinski said. "It’s a great team for further development for young riders. I would like to improve my climbing skills, which is my specialty. My new team will have the opportunity to take part in the prestigious and demanding stage races and this is where I would like to gain experience. I hope I will make a next step in my development and I would be a valuable addition to the team. I would also like to thank my former team, BDC MarcPolfor those two years."
Leszek Plucinski is the 8th new rider who has signed with the “orange” squad. The other seven are Piotr Brozyna, Michal Paluta, Jakub Kaczmarek, Stefan Schumacher, Eryk Laton, Grega Bole and Jan Hirt.
