CCC Sprandi Polkowice will line up a fast squad for the one-day event Rund um Köln (1.1 UCI), which will be held on Sunday, June 14.

"We have two typical sprinters on the six-man roster for this race, Grzegorz Stępniak and Chrisian Delle Stelle," Piotr Wadecki, sporting director of CCC Sprandi Polkowice, said. "The former has had two stage victories this season under his belt – in Szlakiem Bursztynowym and Bałtyk-Karkonosze Tour. The latter was 11th in the Nokere Koerse this year and took part in the legendary classic Milano-Sanremo. Their sensations and situation on the course will decide who will be the leader in the final sprint."

Stępniak and Delle Stelle will be surrounded by four U23 riders – Eryk Laton, also one of the fastest men on the team, Michał Paluta, Jakub Kaczmarek and the youngest rider of the squad, 19-year-old Kamil Małecki.

The race will be 196,7 kilometers long. It will kick off in Gummersbach and end on the circuit in Koln. Throughout the first 160 kilometers the course will be undulating and the finale will be completely flat. The most possible scenario is a bunch sprint.

For the orange team it will be the third time, when it competes in this German event (after 2011 and 2014). In this year’s edition, three UCI World Tour teams (Giant-Alpecin, Etixx – Quick Step, Team LottoNL-Jumbo) will be present at the start line, alongside six ProContinental (aside from CCC Sprandi Polkowice also Bora-Argon 18, Topsport Vlaanderen – Baloise, Cult Energy, Team Roompot Oranje Peloton, MTN – Qhubeka) and 12 Continental teams.

Line-up for Rund um Köln:

Grzegorz Stępniak, Christian Delle Stelle, Eryk Latoń, Michał Paluta, Jakub Kaczmarek, Kamil Małecki
