Jakub Mareczko and Mouhssine Lahsaini made waves among the top-ranked riders of the Asian and African circuits, although the leaders remain the same. No significant changes on the American circuit, and a month without any races in the UCI Oceania Tour and the UCI Europe Tour.

UCI Asia Tour: Jakub Mareczko leaps up ranking

The Italian rider with the team Southeast won’t forget last month in a hurry. In his first season as a professional, the 21-year-old Italian claimed nine victories. Winner of the 6th stage of the Tour of Hainan, he went on to win seven stages of the Tour of Taihu Lake to logically take the overall classification.

This harvest sees him take a spectacular leap up the rankings of the UCI Asia Tour, from 52nd to 2nd position with 362 points. The Iranian Mirsamad Pourseyedigolakhour remains in the lead (378 points). The provisional podium is rounded out by Iran’s Hossein Askari (335 points), while Mattia Gavazzi drops to fourth position (333 points).

No change at the top of the teams ranking with Pishgaman Giant Team (956 points) in front of Tabriz Petrochemical Team (726 points) and Nippo-Vini Fantini (542 points).

The same goes for the three top nations with Iran holding on to first place (1643 points), well ahead of Kazakhstan (602 points) and Japan (541 points).

UCI Africa Tour: a profitable month for Mouhssine Lahsaini

Winner of the Tour du Faso, Mouhssine Lahsaini had a profitable month in the UCI Africa Tour. The Moroccan from Al Marakeb Cycling Team moves up from 5th to 2nd place with 231 points and is within striking distance of fellow Moroccan Salaheddine Mraouni (241 points). Winner of five races this season, including the Tropicale Amissa Bongo, the Tunisian Rafaa Chtioui (Skydive Dubai Pro Cycling team-Al Ahli Club) is third with 221 points. Another rider worthy of note is the Rwandan Jean Bosco Insengiyumva, winner of three stages and the overall classification of the Tour du Rwanda, who moves up from 63rd to 13th place with 127 points.

The Moroccans are in the lead of the nations ranking with 1270 points, in front of Algeria (1161.8 points) and South Africa (876.88 points).

Skydive Dubai Pro Cycling team-Al Ahli Club has been in the lead of the teams ranking for several weeks and remains so, with 571 points. The Groupement sportif des pétroliers Algérie (499 points) is second, followed by MTN-Qhubeka (471.02 points) which is soon to join the UCI WorldTour as Dimension Data.

UCI America Tour: provisional podium remains the same

Winner of the 3rd stage and overall classification of the Vuelta a Guatemala, Costa Rica’s Roman Villalobos enters the UCI America Tour in 42nd place with 61 points. After taking home victory in the Copa América de Ciclismo, the Brazilian Carlos Alexandre Manarelli moves up from 115th to 36th.

No change, however, at the top of the ranking: the Lithuanian Toms Skujins (Hincapie Racing Team), future rider with Cannondale-Garmin, has 208.4 points. He leads Ecuador’s Bayron Guama de la Cruz (198 points) and Michael Woods (Optum P/B Kelly Benefit Strategies), on 179 points.

The Canadian’s team remains in control of the teams ranking (494 points) in front of Funvic-Sao José Dos Campos (481 points) and Hincapie Racing Team (400 points). Colombia (890.35 points), Canada (850 points) and Argentina (788 points) make up a solid leading trio in the nations ranking.
