Russian team Katusha took a narrow 3-second win over Belkin in the flat team time trial to consolidate its dominance of the inaugural Tour des Fjord yesterday, having won the first three stages and leading the race with Chernetskiy
After three stages Sergei Chernetckii is the current leader of the general classification, 30 seconds ahead of Lars Petter Nordhaug from Belkin. Besides, Chernetskiy is the leader in point classification and best young rider classification.
Katusha leads in teams’ classification as well.
“In the first two stages the team worked very hard, so, of course, we are all very tired. And today’s [Saturday’s] time trial was very tough. Anyway, we are all very happy with the victory, this result is very important for everyone. I am happy with the win and with the fact that the yellow jersey is saved for the moment. Tomorrow [Sunday] we will have a very hard stage, but the team is ready to do everything possible to win this race on general classification,” said Chernetskiy.
