After his investments in football, Chinese billionaire Wang Jianlin has set his sights on cycling. With his company Wanda Sports Group, the businessman wants to buy ASO and RCS and so take over the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and the Vuelta a España, according to a report in Milano Finanza.
It is not known what Wang will pay for the acquisitions but money is probably not the issue. Business magazine Forbes estimates that he is the richest man in China with an estimated fortune of 29.5 billion dollars.
Earlier this year, Wang took over 20% of the Spanish football club Atletico Madrid was with an investment of 45 million dollars. In Italy, the year-old has bought the rights to the Serie A football leage. In addition to his potential entry in cycling, he reportedly also has his eyes on some winter sports.
