According to the BBC, Chris Froome will not be present in the World Championships in Richmond this month. The Team Sky leader, who fractured a bone in his foot in a crash at the Vuelta a Espana, will not be ready for the Worlds.
Dave Brailsford explained the situation to the BBC. The Tour de France winner will be off his bike "for a couple of weeks" even if he had been named on the British long list for the event. Since 2011, Froome has ridden the Worlds road race every year, but he has never finished it.
