Chris Horner might finally have a team for 2014. According to Ciclo21.com, Horner is negotiating a contract with Caja Rural team, and if successful, the American will provide another huge boost to the Spanish team, which already secured the signature of Luis Leon Sanchez.

One of the main problems of a team who want to sign the Vuelta 2013 winner, is that Horner reportedly is asking for a high salary, estimated at USD$ 750,000 per year. However, Vivelo Bikes, Caja Rural's bike provider, a US-based company, is confirmed that it is willing to take the chance to sponsor the American rider's 2013 campaign, as Vivelo Bikes sees the presence of Horner a positive image for its sales and advertising impact. Its CEO Matthew Bright already has contacted directly with Chris Horner.

Previously report linked Horner to Christina Watches, but Horner's agent, Baden Cooke, denied that his agent is talking with the Danish team.

Horner is currently unemployed after Trek Factory team decided against to renew his contract following a history-making Vuelta winning campaign, as he broke the record for the eldest rider to win a grand tour, almost 42-year-old.
