A few days after the Spanish federation revealed the calendar of Daniel Navarro, Luis Angel Maté unveiled his schedule on the Ciclo21 site.
The Cofidis rider will start in Spain at the Mallorca Challenge. It is a very early beginning which he has long hesitated to announce because of the length of the last season which ended in October at the Worlds in Doha. The ‘Andalusian lynx’ will then head to the mainland for the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana, the Vuelta a Murcia, Clasica Almeria and the Vuelta a Andalucia, his home race. As it has usually been the case for him, it is a 100% Spanish start.
For the rest, nothing is totally certain but the Spanish climber should do the WorldTour events Paris-Nice, Volta a Catalunya and Vuelta al Pais Vasco where he will try to show himself and go for a stage win. He will then head to Belgium for the Flèche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège before a small break during which he can take stock and consider the rest of his season.
