"I know that Sanremo is another type of race and it will be more difficult stay in front at the top of Poggio. But I have nothing to lose. I’ll give it everything and then let's see what happens."

On Sunday, Bardiani – CSF will take part on Sunday in the 106th Milan – Sanremo, one of the most important one-day races in the world and the second WorldTour event for the Italian team.

”We know that it won’t be easy but our goal is to repeat a type of performance like last year, when [Enrico] Battaglin attacked on the Poggio and then [Sonny] Colbrelli took a great 6th place," manager Roberto Reverberi said. "Enrico is feeling good, while Sonny suffered for a flu during the Tirreno – Adriatico. He was back home after two stages and yesterday he raced GP Nobili with the Italian National Team. Of course the weeks before the Classicissima weren’t the best for him but he has the talent to go further and make a great result. With the other riders we aim tto join the early breakaway. It’s really important for us to have at least one in front because it will give our sponsor a lot of TV exposure."

”Yesterday I felt quite good at GP Nobili, better then I tought," Colbrelli said. "I finished in the leading group, also trying to sprint (he finished 15th). A spot in the top 10 was possible but I was boxed in before my sprint. Anyway the most important thing is that my condition is getting better.  I know that Sanremo is another type of race and it will be more difficult stay in front at the top of Poggio. But I have nothing to lose. I’ll give it everything and then let's see what happens."
