“The Italian Cup is a big goal for us, both to get a wildcard for the 2017 Giro d’Italia and for its importance. There are not many words to add - winning is our goal as well as being among the first in every race."

The final part of Bardiani-CSF 'sseason sounds like a new “Giro d’Italia”. No stages or pink jersey are up for grabs, but the Italian Cup and the title of best national team. Eleven races are in the schedule in twenty days and, on October 1, the final curtain will go down.

Tomorrow, September 14, the #GreenTeam will face the first event, Coppa Bernocchi (Legnano-Legnano, 195 km), claimed in 2013 by Modolo whileSonny Colbrelli took 10th place in 2015 . The Italian rider will lead the team in 2016 supported by Nicola Ruffoni, Paolo Simion, Mirco Maestri, Enrico Barbin, Lorenzo Rota, Alessandro Tonelli and Simone Velasco.

The next day, Bardiani-CSF will be at the start of Coppa Agostoni (Lissone-Lissone, 199 km). Even if no wins have been taken in the last three years, a few prestigious results are in the palmares - 6th place by Pagani in 2013, 4th by Battaglin in 2014 and 5th by Colbrelli in 2015. Colbrelli, Maestri, Rota and Velasco will be on the scene again, while the other four places will be taken by Nicola Boem, Edoardo Zardini, Manuel Bongiorno and Simone Andreetta.

After Coppa Bernocchi and Coppa Agostoni, Bardiani-CSF will be at Memorial Pantani (September 17), Giro della Toscana - Memorial Martini (20 and 21), Coppa Sabatini (22), Giro dell’Emilia (24), GP Beghelli (25), Tre Valli Varesine (27), Milano-Torino (28), Giro del Piemonte (29) and Il Lombardia (October 1).

“Even if we’re going to race the last events of the season, we’re highly focused on these competitions and really motivated to do well,” said team director Roberto Reverberi. “The Italian Cup is a big goal for us, both to get a wildcard for the 2017 Giro d’Italia and for its importance. There are not many words to add - winning is our goal as well as being among the first in every race."

Bardiani-CSF is now third in the Italian Cup classification with 252 points. Wilier-Southeast leads with 265 points and Androni-Sidermec is second with 268. Fourth place os for for Nippo-Fatini with 177 and fifth place for Lampre-Merida with 59.
