The day after the tragic events happened in Bruxelles, Bardiani-CSF Pro Cycling Team is going to fly to Belgium to attend the first part of the Northern campaign. In the calendar of the Bardiani team, Gent-Wevelgem on Sunday followed by Driedaagse De Panne-Koksijde from 29th to 31st are scheduled. On Saturday, April 2, the team will move to the Netherlands to race Volta Limburg Classic.
“Racing in Belgium is one of the greatest satisfactions a cycling team can aspire to, especially for the passion transmitted by the fans,” said team director Stefano Zanatta. “Tuesday’s news, anyway, can’t leave us indifferent. From our side, we would like to show our support to Belgian people by making the best show in their favorite sport. We’ll honor the races with bravery and passion. This must be the imperative of our young talents. They also have the chance to gain experience in such a hard classic like Gent-Wevelgem. All these elements must be the inspiration to make the best performance”.
Whilst the Bardiani team will race Gent-Wevelgem for the first time in its four-year history, their participations in De Panne and Limburg will be the fourth. In the Netherlands, Bardiani-CSF took its best results in a northern race with two second places for Colbrelli (2013 and 2014) and fourth for Battaglin (2015).
The roster of Bardiani-CSF for the three races include:
Sonny Colbrelli, Nicola Boem, Nicola Ruffoni, Alessandro Tonelli, Paolo Simion, Mirco Maestri, Luca Sterbini and Lorenzo Rota.
