After an outstanding 2014, Sonny Colbrelli was rumoured to be signing a contract with Sky as part of the plans of the British team to be more focused on sprinting. In the end, however, the Italian has decided to do another year at Bardiani, according to a report in La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Next year Sonny Colbrelli will again ride in the colours of Bardiani - CSF. The Italian sprinted had been approached by Sky but La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the he has ultimately decided to stay with the team of the Reverberi family.
In 2014, the Italin has taken five wins and countless top 5 results. After several near-misses, he broke the drought on a stage of the Tour de Slovenie before going on to win the Giro dell'Appenninno a few days later. He ended the season in a fantastic way by winning the Memorial Marco Pantani, GP Prato and Coppa Sabatini. His consistent results earned him selection for the World Champiosnhips in Ponferrada where he was the best Italian in 13th.
