The Colombia team had a successul Tour de Langkawi as the team can head back to Europe with their first win and several days in the yellow jersey in their pocket. Carlos Julian Quintero finished 10th overall and the team ended the race well when Leonardo Duque and Jeffry Romero both finished in the top 10 in today's bunch sprint.

Team Colombia ended a good Tour de Langkawi today, with the final stage Tasik Kenyir- Kuala Terrenganu (114 km), won in another mass sprint by Andrea Guardini (Astana) ahead of Aidis Kruopis (Orica-GreenEDGE) and Francesco Chicchi (Neri Sottoli). Team Colombia managed to take two top-10 placements with Leonardo Duque, sixth, and Jeffry Romero, 7th.

Carlos Julian Quintero was the best team rider in the GC won by Iranian Poorseyedigolakhour (Tabriz): the 28-year-old rider from Medellin managed to finish tenth thanks to a battling display in stage 9, with an overall delay of 1.37. Team Colombia also took the 4th place overall in the teams classification.

The final stage followed a quite predictable plot, with a two-man break including Yonathan Monsalve (Yellow Fluo) and Antoine Duchesne (Europcar) easily controlled by the bunch, with Astana particularly determined and finally rewarded by Guardini’s success.

“In the end, we can be pretty satisfied with our performance as here at the Tour of Langkawi we took the first win of the season, lived three days in the leader’s jersey with Duber Quintero, went on the attack every day and took a top-10 placement with Carlos, along with some strong results by Leonardo Duque," sports director Valerio Tebaldi said. "There is great room for improvement of course, and we need to keep on battling like this on the road to greater consistency and bigger results in the future.”
