The long summer leading up to the Vuelta a Espana is knocking on Colombia-Coldeportes’ doors. For Claudio Corti’s team, June will feature three stage races where the Escarabajos will try to give significant indications to the technical staff, and a very strong line-up is set to face the first of those, the Skoda Tour de Luxembourg, from June 3rd to 7th.
Alex Cano will pin a number on his back for the first time since finishing overall fourth at the Tour of Turkey and will do it in good company: after being forced to withdraw from Bayern Rundfahrt, Rodolfo Torres is back in shape for Luxembourg, with Miguel Angel Rubiano also looking with ambitions at the 5 days of lumpy racing in Central Europe. Leonardo Duque and Edwin Avila will share the burden in sprint finishes, while Carlos Julian Quintero, Brayan Ramirez and Fabio Duarte will be able to try their chances in breakaways.
“Tour de Luxembourg is a testing race, with the pace making the real difference rather than huge altitudes,” said Sports Director Valerio Tebaldi, calling the shots along with Marco Corti, “but we feel pretty confident in our team for this race, and we will be looking to be in the thick of the action every day.”
