Just back from Spain, Team Colombia-Coldeportes is ready to leave again. Claudio Corti’s team will take in four one-day races this week: the first in line will be Coppa Agostoni (Wednesday September 16th) and Coppa Bernocchi(Thursday September 17th).

At Coppa Agostoni, to be raced on the 198,2 km distance from Monza and Lissone, some of the riders who did not participate in the Vuelta a Espana will make their comeback to races, guided by Sports Director Oscar Pellicioli:Edwin Avila and Sebastian Molano, recently selected for the World Championships in Richmond, Camilo Castiblanco, Daniel Martinez, Carlos Mario Ramirez and Cayetano Sarmiento. They will be joined by Fabio Duarte, the only  rider returning from the Vuelta, and stagiaire Felix Baron, making his debut in professional racing.

The same line-up will be confirmed in sprinter-friendly Coppa Bernocchi (192 km, starting and finishing in Legnano), the only exception being Fabio Duarte, who will be replaced by another rider returning from Spain: Carlos Julian Quintero, who also figures among the athletes selected by Colombia’s coach Jaramillo for the World Championships in the US.

“Agostoni and Bernocchi are two traditional Italian races, and we will count on the freshness and motivation of the riders who did not take part in the Vuelta,” Sports Director Oscar Pellicioli said. “In particular, Avila and Molano have just got the news of their selection for Richmond, and will be looking to give their best in the upcoming races to rise up to the opportunity. We also expect great enthusiasm by stagiaire Felix Baron.”

“We showed up consistently at the Vuelta, but the stage win proved elusive once again: we will keep on going for the big goal in this final month of the season,” Pellicioli concluded.

Line-up:

Edwin Avila, Felix Baron, Camilo Castiblanco, Daniel Martinez, Sebastian Molano, Carlos Mario Ramirez, Cayetano Sarmiento, Fabio Duarte (Coppa Agostoni only), Carlos Julian Quintero (Coppa Bernocchi only)
