In 2015, the Alberto Contador Foundation will still have a U23 and a junior team in addition to a cycling school and now wants to take new steps at the cadet level, without forgetting its intention to create a top 10. "The professional team will come sooner or later," says Fran Contador, Alberto's brother. He also points out that a professional team needs to be at the top level.

Fran Contador, the leader of the Contador Foundation, does not hide his enthusiasm to start a professional team under the banner of the foundation. "Yes, as we have said we want to have one at some point, but we are not in a hurry. It is a goal that no haunts us. The important thing is to continue working with the base of cycling and if we continue like this, the professional team come sooner or later," he says. "Everything depends on finding the sponsor who can make the project viable, but what I want is that the team is of the highest level and has a guaranteed future.

Therefore he is taking small steps forward. "This year we started with the cadet category which is the only one we needed to complete the full range of ages up to the professionals," he says.

Logically his brother is the lighthouse and the driving force of the Foundation and is very involved. "It pleases me very much to see Alberto speak with pride about the cycling teams, , their riders, the directors. He is thrilled and it is something that motivates him more and more, which is also very important for the viability and future of our entire project," says Fran Contador.

In 2015, he will continue the work with their current teams and want to compete more internationally. "With the juniors we will do as we have done from the beginning because things are going well. In 2013 he got a good start and in 2014 we improved the way of handling the races. The only thing I ask for is that Felix Garcia Casas does what he did this year. As for the U23 category, the goal is to get the team to more races and believe more in our chances. We also want to gain experience abroad by repeating participation in Bretagne and going to races like Valle d'Aosta, the Truptique des Ardennes ande the Ronde de l'Isard," he says.

The Counter Foundation has ended its second season with a very positive balance. Fran Contador draws "a very good balance": "It's very positive, because after two years, the Flex-Junior has become the reference team in its category while the U23 team which has just started this year, had a little uncertainty about whether they would be able to adapt to the category. Fortunately, the Specialized team not only has integrated well into the peloton, we have been one of the teams to look at for our way of doing things. And with the Cycling School Plaza de Eboli Pinto we are very happy with how it's working because this year many more children have been enrolled, nearly double the number from the first year, and this is the best sign that we are doing things well. It was a difficult year and we have managed it in an excellent manner."
