There is a disappointment in Argentina. The interview given by Bauke Mollema (Trek - Segafredo) to Velonews.com had caused a stir in Argentina since the Dutchman announced that he and Alberto Contador would begin their season at the Tour de San Juan. That forced the Trek-Segafredo team to deny the information.
Alberto Contador will not begin his season at the Tour de San Juan. According to the site zikoland.com, he will begin at the Vuelta a Andalucia as he did two years ago when he was beaten into second by Chris Froome.
The rest of his schedule is now known yet but it is likely that he will do Paris-Nice, the Tour of Catalonia and the Tour of the Basque Country, a program similar to 2016 except he will ride in Andalusia instead of at the Volta ao Algarve.
