Mikel Landa was closely marked by Alberto Contador in stage 19 of the Giro d'Italia and this allowed Fabio Aru to ride away with the stage win and pass his Basque teammate in the overall standings.

"I think he tries to create chaos within the team and a war between Fabio and me," Landa told Cadena Cope. "But he will not get what he wants. We are teammates and we will fight until the last stage. We do not care about our internal GC positions."

Aru now leads Landa by 38 seconds.
